We took water and light snacks and stopped maybe 3 times going up. We were on the trail by 830a on a Saturday. in Beaver Creek Village. Beaver Lake is a trail that leaves from the Beaver Creek Resort near Avon in Colorado. 3 mile climb to the lake. Walked up from resort. The lake is flanked by steep walls to the west, and meadows to the north and east ideal for camping and picnicking. Please note 1/2 way up ( about a mile from the lake) there is a slight left turn over a bridge, if you miss it you’ll come to a wide fast stream to cross, so go back & find the turn. Bring your mask and use it! Overall an enjoyable morning hike. The lake is worth the effort. And lovely reward of the beautiful lake at the endOverall, wonderful hike! The area. Went about 9am on a Thursday and saw very few people for most of the hike. The map shown here includes the 5 senses trail.We took centennial up and proceeded to the trail. However, on the way down there were tons of people. Beaver Lake is a popular fishing lake for day users, as well as, campers. We went up after work, left at 5:20pm and saw a handful of folks coming down. Mostly down hill except for last .5 mile right before reaching the lake. If you’re looking to social distance, walk to the back of Beaver Creek village and find the red fence behind and to the right of the lifts. Beautiful worthwhile finale seeing that lake. Tough to find but go out to the centennial 6 and look to your right and you’ll see a red gate. Highly recommend going early. Its a moderate to difficult hike. Follow the signs to Beaver Lake Trail - the trail starts next to a fire station. We went this last Saturday when the lift opened at 10. Easy trail. Some campsites offer views of the lake and surrounding cliffs, while others are more secluded in the spruce trees. Some sites have view of lake, open meadow and towering cliffs, while tent sites, located on a dead end spur, are nicely secluded. Hiked royal elk up to beaver lake.
The first mile is along the road, not ideal, but once you catch the Beaver Lake trail, it is beautiful! The first mile was along side a road. !This was a great hike! The last bit up to the lake is a bit rocky, but the lake is beautiful. Beautiful trail and as described, with the correction that it starts from 5 Senses Trail not 4. TakeBeautiful scenery at every turn. Do it! Last 20 minutes of trail are rocky and pretty steep. The U.S. Post Office at Avon (ZIP Code 81620) serves Beaver Creek postal addresses. It was a beautiful ending to see the amazing lake after a hard hike for me! On way back down I took the Royal Elk trail to the gondola for trip down.

Easy enough trail to do in 3 hours. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.Closed until June 30, 2020 for Elk migration/calving. Take a backpack with water and snacks.
Hard to believe Beaver Creek allows so much poop on a trail. The lake is beautiful. Steep climbs at times, but overall a really pleasant hike. The lake is fantastic and worthwhile to see. Complete hike - up and down with a snack at the lake - in less than 3 hours.Well marked and wide trail. This trail is nice if you like to hike with lots of horse poop. Take a fishing pole.
