Far from a traditional pub but ok for a visit.This rather trendy looking pub is accessed from Mare Street via a passageway decorated with all sorts of graffiti art, slogans and collages, making it quite a trippy experience just getting into the place.
We have ten rooms, all have free WiFi and are en suite.

My single room was decorated beautifully - loved the bright green Dalsouple rubber bathroom floor & having real tea-leaves on the breakfast tray (and at breakfast downstairs in the bar) was a nice touch.
The Old Ship Inn is a traditional English pub, situated in trendy Hackney, opposite the Hackney Empire and Hackney Picture House. The name is given as simply The Ship in 1856 and earlier. Quiet and comfortable.
Great locations and good breakfast. The front part of the pub has a mix of cracked white tiling and exposed brick walls decorated with mural artwork, all under a nice skylight with a plasma screen to one side. The pub is tucked down an alley just off Hackney's main drag, Mare St, a 2-minute walk from Hackney Central station. Access to the rooms is a little difficult if you have mobility problems but the staff are extremely helpful so I am positive they would be glad to help.Stayed here for a night last week on a work visit. )Couples policies (are non-married individuals allowed?)

Finished off on our flame-grill rotisserie and served up with your choice of homemade sauces and sides. At Old Ship Inn Hackney there is a bar serving spirits, craft beers and ales and a traditional British Sunday roast. Food was excellent.” Breakfast better than expected: a 'light' breakfast included a help-yourself selection of hot and cold that was more than enough.
