Aren’t smallpipse what you use for gas pulmbing? I’m from Nova Scotia, Canada and don’t see any one playing pipes other than the GHB around here, and a few Uilleann pipe players. Any relevant information would be much appreciated.
Border pipes are on the top end of session-friendly volume, sound similar to GHBs and should be played in the same ornamentation style. I think the borders lend themselves more to martial ghb music and that style. They are available.
For music I prefer the wishlet or the fulet. Uilleann pipes are bagpipes, but I think I know what you mean. With the BP you have to be competent and confident enough to be one of the dominant sounds at the session. Just looking for some opinions, and hopefully some experienced advice.
