See today's front and back pages, download the newspaper, Please see our Stage and screen actor Michael Sheen appears as an exaggerated version of himself in the new BBC show.He is reuniting with his Good Omen’s co-star David Tennant to rehearse a play over video call.The Welsh actor is well-known for a number of films and series including Masters of Sex, Midnight in Paris and Prodigal Son.As well as this he has been praised for playing real people, including Tony Blair in The Queen, David Frost in Frost/Nixon and recently Chris Tarrant in Quiz.Starring opposite Michael is David who plays an fictionalised version of himself attempting to adjust to life in lockdown.Dressed in the same grey hoodie everyday he’s keen to rehearse the play to stop himself from sitting around spelling words backwards.Tennant is best-known for playing the Doctor in Doctor Who from 2005 to 2010.However, he’s also starred in Jessica Jones, Broadchurch and Deadwater Fell.Comedian Simon Evans stars as the play’s director who is keen to get on with rehearsals with David and Michael.However, Simon is a bit flakey, often leaving Michael and David on the call together to bicker about whose Hamlet was more acclaimed.Evans is also the writer and director of the lockdown comedy who has previously directed plays like Killer Joe and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.David’s real-life wife Georgia Tennant also appears in the comedy as a version of herself.In the short comedy series she is writing a novel, raising their children, homeschooling them and generally despairing at her husband’s lack of motivation.Georgia previously played the Doctor’s Daughter in an episode of Doctor Who where she first met her husband.As well as this she has starred in The Bill and Merlin and her and Tennant have five children.Just as Georgia appears in the comedy, Michael’s real-life girlfriend does as well in the background of a number of video calls.Living in lockdown with her new baby and Michael, she has impressive knowledge of history and is often bringing his partner glasses of wine early in the morning.This is Swedish actor Lundberg’s first on-screen role but she has starred in a number of stage productions following her training in New York.The 26-year-old first went public with her relationship with Sheen in May 2019 before giving birth to their daughter Lyra in September.In a surprise cameo, Hollywood star Samuel L Jackson also makes an appearance in the comedy.The star was originally supposed to play Michael’s role in the play and gets caught up in the drama of the rehearsals.Simon’s sister Lucy Eaton appears briefly in the show as well where she joins a Zoom call with Tennant and Sheen.Eaton has also starred in shows like Murder Maps and Exposure as well as working as a producer.Nina Sosanya is the only star who plays a completely fictional role as Jo who is the producer on Simon’s show and is self-isolating with her assistant.Sosanya has previously appeared in Marcella, His Dark Materials, Killing Eve and W1A. The pandemic has put paid to that, but their director (Simon Evans - also playing himself) is determined not to let the opportunity pass him by.
