Well, in many respects, it was pretty accurate to more objective history. Based on the actual operations of the American Volunteer Group aka Flying Tigers but not using the names of any real Flying Tigers as they were still in action against the Japanese when the movie was released. I know the history of the real Flying Tigers and I wanted to see how closely this matched reality. Just wonder if there is any way they can put these through some type of wash before releasing. Jim Gordon (John Wayne) commands a unit of the famed Flying Tigers, the American Volunteer Group which fought the Japanese in China before America's entry into World War II.
